The first step in acne-prone skin care: cleansing
This cleanser has completed functional reporting for acne-prone skin relief and is used as the very first step in your skincare routine. Formulated with 0.5% salicylic acid (BHA, an ingredient that dissolves impurities deep in pores), it gently softens dead skin cells and helps clear out sebum and buildup from within the pores. After cleansing, follow with toner, essence, and cream in that order.
Suitable for morning and evening use
In the morning, use it to wash away sebum produced overnight. In the evening, use it to remove the day's buildup and makeup residue. Its mildly alkaline formula makes it ideal for both morning and evening cleansing, especially for oily or acne-prone skin with high sebum production.
Gentle cleansing with micro-bubble foam
Wet your hands, dispense an appropriate amount, and work into a rich lather. The fine bubble particles reach deep into pores to dissolve sebum and dead skin cells while clearing away impurities. Massage over the entire face in circular motions for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Focus on the nose area and jawline, and use a lighter touch around the eye area.
Next-step pairings by skin concern
- Acne-prone skin: Follow with a toner from the same line for soothing and sebum control to maximize results
- Oily skin: Follow with a lightweight water-type toner and finish with a light lotion
- Dehydrated oily skin: Apply a hydrating toner immediately after cleansing to prevent moisture loss
Precautions when using BHA
This product contains salicylic acid (BHA), so if you're new to this ingredient, start by monitoring your skin's response. If you experience dryness with daily use, you can adjust to every other day. Using it on the same day as retinol or other exfoliating products may cause irritation, so separate them by time of day. If redness or discomfort persists during use, discontinue and consult a dermatologist.
