During the essence or serum step of your skincare routine
This is a spot cream designed to be used after toner and before your moisturizer. Because it's meant for targeted application on areas of concern—like breakouts or hyperpigmentation—you can layer it with a full-face serum. Simply let your serum absorb first, then apply this cream only where needed.
Start with evening use and monitor your skin's response
Due to the nature of spicule ingredients, we recommend using this once in the evening when you first start. Once your skin adjusts, you can use it morning and night, but always listen to your skin and adjust frequency accordingly. If you apply it in the morning, be sure to follow up with thorough sun protection.
Press gently to absorb—don't rub
On clean skin, take a small amount and dot it directly onto areas with breakouts or hyperpigmentation. Because spicules can cause irritation if rubbed, the key is to gently tap the product in with your fingertips until absorbed. You may feel a slight tingling sensation on first application—this is a temporary response due to the active ingredients.
Pairing suggestions based on your skin concerns
- For breakouts and excess oil: Calm skin with a tea tree toner before applying this cream
- For dull complexion: Use separately from vitamin C serum (alternate times of day) to support tone-evening results
- For sensitive, dry skin: Seal everything in with a cream containing ceramides or panthenol to protect your skin barrier
Before you use
This product has completed non-comedogenic testing and sensitive skin irritation testing, but we still recommend doing a patch test behind your ear or on your inner arm before first use. If tingling, warmth, or redness persists or worsens during use, discontinue and consult a dermatologist. If applying before makeup, wait until any tingling subsides, then use a clean puff or brush to gently tap on your foundation for a seamless, transfer-free finish.
