Use after essence, before moisturizer
This Retinal Shot functions as a serum or essence step. After cleansing and toning to prep your skin, apply your essence first and let it absorb, then follow with this product. Finish with a moisturizing cream to help the retinal work effectively and stay stable on your skin.
Evening routine only. If used during the day, SPF is essential
Retinal is prone to oxidation when exposed to sunlight, so it's best used in your evening skincare routine. If you must use it during the day, always apply sunscreen on top. For your morning routine, consider switching to a vitamin C serum or hydrating product instead.
A pea-sized amount, on completely dry skin
The right amount is about the size of a pea. Wait until your toner has fully dried before applying, as this helps minimize irritation. Gently smooth it over your entire face, avoiding the eye and lip areas. If you're concerned about sensitivity, try the sandwich method: apply a light moisturizer first, then the Retinal Shot, and finish with another layer of moisturizing cream.
For skin that needs firming and tone-evening care
Ideal if you're concerned about fine lines or loss of firmness. It also contains niacinamide and black rice extract, making it a great choice when you want to address a dull complexion at the same time. If you're looking to improve pore resilience and refine skin texture, use it consistently 3 to 4 times a week.
Precautions when using retinal
If you're new to retinal, start with 2 to 3 times a week and give your skin time to adjust. Avoid using it on the same day as AHA, BHA, or high-concentration vitamin C, as this may cause irritation. Separate by time of day or alternate days instead. We recommend doing a patch test on the inner arm before first use. If redness or stinging persists, discontinue use. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
