From cleansing step to pore-focused special care
This product combines a clay pack and a cleanser in one. It can handle light sunscreen or base makeup as a first cleanse on its own, but on days when you're wearing heavier makeup, use a cleansing oil first, then follow up with this as your second cleanse to thoroughly clear out pores.
Better suited for your evening routine than morning
It's especially effective for evening cleansing, when you need to remove the sebum and impurities that have built up throughout the day. Since the 5-clay complex is designed to absorb oil, daily morning use may lead to dryness. You can use it daily depending on your skin's condition, but if you notice any tightness, dial it back to 2–3 times a week.
Apply to dry skin and massage for 1 minute
Apply a generous layer to dry skin, avoiding the eye and mouth areas. Gently massage for about 1 minute until the charcoal capsules burst and the color shifts from green to gray. Focus a little more on areas prone to oil buildup, like the T-zone or butterfly zone. Then wet your hands, work the formula into a lather, and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Next-step pairings by skin type
- Oily and combination skin: Follow with a lightweight toner, and layer in a BHA toner 1–2 times a week for enhanced pore care.
- Dry skin: Since the clay absorbs oil, replenish moisture immediately after cleansing with a deeply hydrating toner and cream.
- Sensitive skin: This product has completed a sensitivity test for sensitive skin, but start with twice a week to see how your skin responds.
Things to keep in mind
If the charcoal capsules aren't breaking down easily, dampen your fingertips slightly and continue massaging. The brown particles that don't dissolve are heartleaf powder—not impurities, so no need to worry. If you experience tightness or irritation after use, reduce frequency or discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
