Use as a pre-cleansing sebum-softening step
Unlike regular cleansers, this sebum softener is designed to be used before washing your face. Start by opening your pores with warm water, then apply the product to areas prone to excess sebum. Once the sebum has softened, gently wipe it away and follow with your usual cleanser. Continue with your skincare routine in the usual order: toner, essence, and cream.
Best used before your evening cleanse
For optimal results, use it in the evening when sebum and impurities have built up throughout the day. If you have oily skin, aim for once or twice a week. For sensitive skin, once a week or once every two weeks is ideal. Applying it right after a hot shower or using a warm towel to open your pores will enhance the sebum-softening effect.
Three-step care with cotton pads and swabs
Dispense an appropriate amount onto a cotton pad and place it on sebum-prone areas like the nose, T-zone, and butterfly zone. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes to allow hardened sebum to soften and rise to the surface. Gently wipe away the softened sebum with a cotton swab, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Follow-up care by skin type
- Oily skin: After use, refine pores with a lightweight toner and finish with a hydrating gel for a shine-free, moisturized feel
- Combination skin: Focus application on the T-zone, then layer a hydrating essence on the cheeks and jawline to balance your skin
- Sensitive skin: Follow up with a soothing toner or cica cream to calm the skin
Precautions when using AHA, BHA, and PHA complex
This product contains AHA (exfoliating agent), BHA (helps dissolve impurities inside pores), and PHA (gentle exfoliating agent). Using it on the same day as retinol or other exfoliating products may cause irritation. If you experience redness or stinging after use, discontinue immediately and consult a dermatologist. Avoid applying to broken or wounded skin, and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
