From moisturizer step to pore care
This cream formula fits right into the moisturizer step of your skincare routine. After prepping your skin with toner and essence, apply this cream as your final hydration layer. With 0.16% retinol and 2% niacinamide working together, you can target both pore refinement and tone-evening at once.
Evening routine only, sunscreen is a must in the morning
Though this product contains retinol, it completed a low-irritation test with a skin irritation score of 0.00. Still, due to the nature of retinol, we recommend using it in your evening routine. The next morning, be sure to apply sunscreen thoroughly to protect your skin from UV exposure.
Apply a moderate amount and let it absorb
Dispense a pearl-sized amount onto your fingertips and dot it onto your forehead, both cheeks, nose, and chin. Gently spread from the center of your face outward, then press your palms lightly over your skin to help it absorb. For areas where pores are a concern, like around the nose and cheeks, feel free to apply a second layer.
Routine pairings by skin concern
- If pores and sebum are your concern: After a lightweight hydrating toner, finish with this cream alone to balance oil levels
- If you're noticing loss of firmness: Apply a PDRN or collagen ampoule first, then seal it in with this cream for a synergistic effect
- If dull complexion is your concern: Separate your vitamin C serum by time of day—use vitamin C in the morning and this cream in the evening
Precautions when using retinol
If you're new to retinol, start with 2–3 times a week and monitor how your skin responds. Avoid using exfoliating products like AHA or BHA on the same day, as this may cause irritation—it's best to alternate days. To preserve the retinol, which is sensitive to light and air, the product comes in a specially designed container. Always close the cap tightly after use and store in a cool place.
