During your evening essence/serum step
After cleansing and toning to prep your skin, apply this serum during your essence or serum step. Because it contains retinol, layering it over a well-hydrated base helps minimize irritation while maximizing firming benefits. Follow with a cream to seal in the active ingredients.
Evening use only — reserve for your nighttime routine
Due to the nature of retinol, skin can become more sensitive to UV exposure, so use this product only in your evening routine. Skip it in the morning and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen diligently instead. This allows you to focus on firming and pore care while your skin naturally repairs overnight.
2–3 drops, gently smoothed from the center outward
Dispense 2–3 drops with the dropper and dot onto both cheeks, forehead, and chin. Using your palms, gently smooth from the center of your face outward. For the mid-face area (cheekbones to cheeks), press gently with your fingertips to help absorption. For added benefit, extend application lightly down to your neck.
Pairing suggestions by skin concern
- Intensive firming care: Layer with a collagen or peptide cream for synergistic results
- Pore concerns: Use a BHA toner 1–2 times per week, but avoid using it on the same day as retinol
- If dryness is a concern: Apply a hyaluronic acid essence first to build a strong hydration base before your serum
Important reminders when using retinol
If you're new to retinol, start with 2–3 times per week and monitor how your skin responds. Once your skin adjusts, you can gradually increase frequency. Avoid using AHA, BHA, or high-strength vitamin C on the same day, as this may cause irritation — separate by time of day or alternate days. If you experience persistent redness, flaking, or stinging, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
