Color care that starts with your first wash after dyeing
Color-correcting shampoo is designed to replace your regular shampoo. When you start using it right after coloring, it helps slow down fading and keeps your desired tone looking fresh for longer. It's ideal for color-treated or bleached hair, and works to maintain your color while caring for damaged strands at the same time.
Use 2–3 times a week to maintain color balance
Instead of daily use, aim for 2–3 times per week. If you notice faster fading, increase the frequency. Once your color stabilizes, you can dial it back. Alternating with your regular shampoo helps reduce any buildup on the hair.
Lather fully and distribute evenly
Apply a generous amount to wet hair and massage from roots to ends. Build up a rich lather so the pigments can deposit evenly. The longer you leave it on, the more intense the toning effect—wait 1 to 5 minutes depending on how much correction you want, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Choosing the right shade for your color concern
- Red, Pink: Best for maintaining red-toned or pink-toned dye
- Silver: Effective for preserving ash and grey tones
- Blue: Neutralizes lingering orange tones after bleaching
- Violet: Neutralizes brassy warmth and helps tone down sallowness in grey or white hair
What to know before you start
For more even pigment deposit, cleanse your hair first with a regular shampoo or clarifying product to remove any buildup. The pigments can stain nails or bathroom tiles, so rinse surfaces right after use. If you experience any scalp irritation, discontinue use and consult a professional.
