After Base Makeup, During the Contouring Step
Use after you've finished your foundation and concealer base. If you apply shading before setting powder, you'll get a soft, naturally diffused shadow; if you apply it after setting powder, you'll achieve a more defined contour. Finishing your brows first makes it easier to locate the starting point of your nose bridge.
From Between the Brows to the Tip of the Nose in One Stroke
Load the brush with shading powder, then tap it once on the back of your hand to control the amount. Starting from the hollow beneath your brow bone, sweep lightly down along the bridge of your nose to the tip—one stroke creates instant dimension. If you have a wider nose, lightly touch the sides of the nose walls; if your nose looks long, focus only on the bridge and under the tip to visually shorten it.
Weekly Cleansing, Dry Flat
Clean natural hair brushes once a week with a dedicated brush cleanser or gentle shampoo. Dilute the cleanser in lukewarm water and gently swirl only the bristles to wash, then lay the brush flat on a towel to air dry without squeezing out excess water. The clamped ferrule construction keeps the handle and ferrule securely joined, but standing it upright while drying may allow water to seep in, so avoid that.
Pair with Powder Shading Products
The soft bristle type of grey squirrel hair works beautifully with powder-type shading and contour products. It picks up powder particles evenly for smooth, clump-free color payoff. For cream or stick formulas, we recommend a sponge or synthetic bristle brush instead.
Protect Bristle Shape with the Included Cover
After use, slip on the included brush cover to prevent the bristles from getting crushed or splayed. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight and high heat, and replace the brush when the bristles start to fray or color payoff weakens.
