At-Home Gray Coverage Starts with Prep
Always perform a patch test 48 hours before coloring. Check that your scalp is free of cuts or irritation, and apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or cream around your hairline and neck to prevent staining. Use the included cape and gloves to protect your clothes and hands.
Set Aside Enough Time
From prep to finish, the process takes about an hour, so choose a day when you're not rushed. Once you mix Agent 1 and Agent 2, you'll need to apply immediately—have everything ready beforehand. Working in a well-ventilated space helps minimize any scent.
Application Amount and Technique by Hair Length
Recommended usage varies by hair length:
- Root touch-up only: 1/2 unit
- Short or bob-length hair: 1 unit
- Shoulder-length hair: 2 units
Pour Agent 1 into the Agent 2 bottle, close the cap tightly, and shake well to combine. Part your hair where grays are most visible and apply the mixture, starting from those areas. Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. If the room temperature is below 20°C or your hair is coarse, extend the processing time by 10 minutes.
Choosing Your Shade Based on Gray Coverage Needs
If grays make up 30% or more of your hair, opt for full-coverage shades like Natural Black, Ash Black, or Choco Brown. For early grays (10–30%), try on-trend options like Ash Brown, Lavender Brown, or Rose Brown. Keep in mind that color payoff will vary depending on whether your base hair is dark or light.
Before and After Care
Avoid use if your scalp has any cuts, inflammation, or heightened sensitivity. After coloring, finish with the included hair mask to help care for your strands. If you experience itching or stinging during application, rinse immediately and consult a professional if symptoms persist.
