Start your cleansing routine with oil
Cleansing oil is the very first step in your skincare routine. It's your first cleanse — designed to dissolve makeup and sunscreen — followed by a foam cleanser as your second cleanse to clear out pore-clogging impurities. Because sebum is oil-soluble, cleansing oil is especially effective at removing the kind of buildup that water-based cleansers can't tackle on their own.
Best used in your evening routine
It works best on evenings when you've worn makeup. In the morning, your skin produces less sebum overnight, so a foam cleanser alone is usually enough — but if your skin feels particularly oily from the night before, a light cleanse with oil is perfectly fine.
Always start with dry hands and a dry face
Pump 2–3 times into dry hands, then gently massage onto a dry face. Once your makeup begins to break down, add a small amount of water to emulsify. The oil will turn milky white — that's your cue to rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. In a human application test, this formula removed 99% of fine dust particles and showed visible improvement in blackheads and whiteheads. For areas where pores are a concern, gently roll your fingertips in circular motions for extra care.
Tailor your next steps to your skin type
- Dry skin: Follow with a gentle foam cleanser for a light second cleanse, then immediately apply a deeply hydrating toner
- Oily or combination skin: If pore care is a priority, incorporate a BHA toner 2–3 times a week
- Sensitive skin: This product passed a dermatological patch test with a non-irritating result, but we still recommend testing with a small amount on your first use
Keep water out during storage
Because of the pump design, water entering the bottle can compromise the formula. Avoid storing it in the shower or near the sink where splashes occur. Keep it in a cool, dry place, and discontinue use if you notice any change in scent or texture.
