Use as the final step in your evening skincare routine
This is a cream designed to be used as the last step in your skincare routine, after cleansing, toner, essence, and serum. Because it contains 2.5% retinal, a potent active ingredient, layering it over well-hydrated skin helps minimize irritation and supports better absorption.
Evening use only. Always follow with SPF during the day
Retinal is light-sensitive, so we recommend using this cream only at night. If you do apply it during the day, always follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin. SPF is also essential the morning after using retinal.
Start with a millet seed-sized amount, then increase to a rice grain once your skin adjusts
If you're new to retinal, start with about 2mm (the size of a millet seed) and apply a thin layer only to areas of concern. Use every other night for the first two weeks and monitor how your skin responds. From week three onward, once your skin has adjusted, you can apply about 4mm (the size of a rice grain) gently over your entire face every evening.
Pairing suggestions based on your skin goals
- If dryness is a concern: Apply a deeply hydrating essence before the retinal cream, then follow with a soothing cream with calming ingredients to help protect your skin barrier
- If you're targeting uneven tone: Use a vitamin C serum in the morning and this cream at night to maximize results without overlap
- If you're focused on firming: Pair with a peptide essence to help boost visible elasticity over time
Important reminders when using retinal
Avoid using high-strength vitamin C, physical scrubs, or AHA/BHA products on the same night. Alternate them on different evenings instead. If you experience stinging or redness, reduce the amount and frequency of use. If irritation persists, discontinue use. Store the product in a cool place between 3–10°C to help maintain retinal stability.
