Use as the final step in your evening routine
Stiva A Cream is a retinal cream designed to be used as the last step in your skincare routine. After applying toner, essence, and serum, finish with this product. With 2.5% retinal, it's important to apply it over a well-hydrated base to minimize potential irritation.
Evening use only. Always wear SPF if used during the day
Retinal is a light-sensitive ingredient, so it's best used in your evening routine. If you must use it during the day, always follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. SPF is also essential the morning after applying retinal.
Adjust usage based on your skin's adaptation period
If you're new to retinal, start with a millet seed-sized amount (about 2mm) and apply a thin layer to areas of concern. Use every other night for the first two weeks. From week three, once your skin has adapted, you can increase to a rice grain-sized amount (about 4mm) and apply daily to the entire face. Dot the product onto your forehead, both cheeks, nose, and chin, then gently blend outward from the center of your face.
Recommended combinations for targeted concerns
- Wrinkles and firmness: Apply a peptide-rich product first, then seal it in with this cream for enhanced results
- Tone-evening needs: The formula contains niacinamide, so you can target uneven tone without adding a separate brightening serum
- Extra dryness: Layer a soothing moisturizer first, then apply a thin layer of this cream on top
Important precautions when using retinal
Avoid using high-strength vitamin C, AHA, BHA, or scrub products on the same day. If needed, alternate them on different nights. If you experience stinging or redness, reduce the amount and frequency, and pair with a calming moisturizer. After opening, store in a cool place at 3–10°C to help maintain retinal stability. Do not use on children under 3 years of age.
