Hello, Queens!
This is Sia, editor at PiyoQueens.
When you're looking for an online shop for K-beauty products, you might be wondering:
“Is this shop really trustworthy?”
“Are the products sold there actually genuine?”
To help you shop K-beauty safely, in this article we look at four key points for Piyonna and Shop Y and compare the two shops.
Q. What should I check before buying K-beauty products?
✅ Who is behind the online shop?
✅ Are customer service and contact options clearly stated?
✅ Can I see the return and refund conditions before buying?
✅ Can I trace where the products on offer come from?
Q. Who is behind Piyonna and Shop Y?
For both shops, you can find out directly on the website which company runs it and where it is based. Especially with a shop you're seeing for the first time, you shouldn't just look at the shop's name — also check which company actually operates it.
Piyonna
You'll find the company information at the bottom of the Piyonna website.
Kakao Style Corp. is listed as the operator. The name of the person in charge, the business registration number and the company address in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea are also given. Information on Croquis Global PTE. LTD., the hosting and payment service provider, is listed separately as well.

So you can trace which company actually stands behind the shop Piyonna – it isn't just a website with a shop name.
Shop Y
Shop Y also publishes company information on its “About Us” page.
There you'll find, among other things, the company's address. A phone number for business enquiries is also listed.
In short
With both shops, you as a customer can see who is behind the shop and where the company is based.
So if you want to check whether an online shop seems trustworthy, it's worth looking for this kind of concrete company information first.
Q. Are customer service and contact options clearly stated at Piyonna and Shop Y?
Both shops offer several ways to contact customer service with questions about orders or returns. In addition to email and a contact form, Piyonna also offers live chat.
Piyonna
Piyonna has its own “Contact Us” page.
For questions about orders, returns or products, the email address support@piyonna.com is given. You can also use the live chat on the website or the contact form.
Piyonna also states that enquiries should usually be answered within 1–2 business days.

Shop Y
Shop Y also has its own “Customer Support” page and a contact form.
You can check the status of your order through your customer account, or as a guest via the order lookup. If your question can't be answered through the FAQ, you can use the contact form on the “Contact Us” page.
In short
With both shops, you can find out how to reach customer service before you buy.
Especially with an international online shop you're ordering from for the first time, it's worth checking before you pay whether an email address, contact form or other contact options are clearly stated.
Q. Are the return and refund conditions clearly explained at Piyonna and Shop Y?
Both shops explain their return conditions before you buy – including deadlines and the process.
Piyonna
In its FAQ, Piyonna states that it ships to Germany and various other European countries.

Depending on the destination country, delivery usually takes about 7–15 business days. For members, a delivery time of 7 business days is given.

The conditions for returns are also set out in concrete terms.
If you've changed your mind, you can request a return within 14 days of receiving the product. For damaged or incorrectly delivered products, you can request a return within 30 days of receipt. Photos or videos may be required as proof, for example.

For a return based on a personal decision, for example because you changed your mind, you pay the return shipping costs yourself. If the problem is due to an error on Piyonna's side, such as a wrong or damaged delivery, Piyonna covers the return shipping costs.

Shop Y
Shop Y also explains its return and refund conditions in the “Returns and Refunds” section of its Customer Service page.
If you want to return a product, you need to request an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) within 14 days of receipt. You can then use this number to send the return.
After receiving the RMA number, the product must be sent back within the stated deadline. It is also explained which products are excluded from returns.
Shop Y also points out that refunds are generally issued as store credit. On request, however, the refund can also be made via the original payment method.
For damaged or incorrectly delivered products, you need to contact customer service to receive an RMA number. Under certain conditions, return shipping costs can also be refunded.
In short
With both shops, you can see the delivery and return conditions before you order. The respective deadlines and processes are also explained in concrete terms.
So if you want to order from an international online shop, don't just check whether a return is possible in principle. Also check by when, under what conditions and how you can return a product.
Q. Can I trace where the products at Piyonna and Shop Y come from?
Both shops publish information on the authenticity of their products and their sources of supply.
Still, it's best not to rely only on what the shop itself says. Where possible, you can also check on the official website of the brand which retailers are listed there as official or authorised points of sale.
Piyonna
The Piyonna FAQ includes its own question: “Are your products authentic?”
According to Piyonna, the products on offer are sourced directly from official Korean brands or from the brands' authorised distributors and shipped from a logistics centre in Korea.

Shop Y
On its “About Us” page, Shop Y describes itself as an authorised retailer of more than 300 beauty brands, including Korean and Japanese brands.
You can, however, double-check what the shop says.
The official COSRX website, for example, has a “Stores” page with a list of official and authorised points of sale. COSRX explains there that the listed retailers are official distribution partners of the brand. Shop Y also appears in the international retailer list.
In this case, the sales relationship can be traced not only through Shop Y's own information but also through an external source – namely the brand's own official website.
Important: not every K-beauty brand publishes a list of authorised retailers. So just because a particular shop isn't listed on a brand's website doesn't automatically mean that the products sold there are fake.
Piyonna vs. Shop Y: the results at a glance
| Check | Piyonna | Shop Y |
| Operator & company address | Publicly available | Publicly available |
| Customer service | Email, live chat & contact form | Customer service & contact form |

In the end, what matters isn't whether a shop claims to be “trustworthy”. What matters much more is whether you can verify the relevant information yourself.
So when you discover a new K-beauty shop, don't simply rely on statements like “We only sell genuine products”. Instead, check whether concrete information about the company, customer service, returns and the origin of the products is publicly available.
That way you can form a better picture yourself of whether the shop seems trustworthy.
We hope this guide helps you shop K-beauty even more safely, Queens!
